Office 2024 LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) is the perpetual, stability-first edition used on business machines — security updates only, no feature churn. It installs via Microsoft's Office Deployment Tool (ODT) rather than a normal clickable installer, and it usually activates best by phone.
System requirements

Step 1 — Download the Office Deployment Tool
- Download the ODT from Microsoft's official download page (search "Office Deployment Tool").
- Run it and extract to a dedicated folder, e.g.
C:\Office2024Setup.
Step 2 — Create configuration.xml
In that folder, create configuration.xml with your edition and key (example for 64-bit Pro Plus, English):

Replace PIDKEY with the key from your TechHub delivery email.
Step 3 — Install
- Open Command Prompt as administrator and change to the folder:
cd C:\Office2024Setup - Run:
setup.exe /configure configuration.xml - Office downloads and installs — mostly silently. Wait for the completion window.
Step 4 — Activate (phone method recommended)
LTSC keys are often MAK-type with online activation limits — phone activation avoids MAK limit errors and resets cleanly:
- Open any Office app; when activation appears, choose "I want to activate the software by telephone."
- Note the Installation ID shown on screen.
- Generate your Confirmation ID in seconds with the TechHub Get CID tool (your Order ID authorises it).
- Type the Confirmation ID into the wizard → Activate. Verify at File → Account → "Product Activated".
Troubleshooting
- "Couldn't find configuration.xml" — you're not in the right folder or Command Prompt isn't elevated;
cdto the setup folder and run as administrator. - Install blocked by older Office — remove remnants of previous versions (Settings → Apps, or Microsoft's uninstall support tool), restart, retry.
- Online activation refuses the key (MAK limit) — switch to the phone method above; it's the intended path for these licences.
