Overview
This guide explains how to activate your McAfee antivirus subscription using your product key (activation code). Once you redeem the key, you can download and install your McAfee security software.
Before you start
- Your 25-digit product key is also called your activation code.
- You will need a McAfee account — you can sign in with an existing one or create one during activation.
- If the key’s region of origin looks different from yours, that does not mean the key is faulty; it can still be activated and used in your region.
Activation steps
- Go to mcafee.com/activate to redeem your product key.
- Enter the 25-digit product key from your Retail Card, eCard, or the email we sent you.
- Sign in to your McAfee account (or create one) when prompted.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install your McAfee security application.
Notes & tips
- Uninstall any other antivirus software first to avoid conflicts.
- Keep your product key safe — you may need it to reinstall or move your subscription to a new device.
- The key’s origin region may differ from yours; this does not affect its functionality or validity.
