This guide explains how to activate Bitdefender Total Security (and other Bitdefender products) using your activation code — on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.
For Windows
Step 1: Sign in to your Bitdefender account
- Go to central.bitdefender.com.
- Sign in with your existing account, or create a new one.
- Have the activation code we sent you ready.
Step 2: Activate your subscription
- Open My Subscriptions and click Activation code.
- Enter your code in the format
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. - Click Activate.
Step 3: Download & install
- In the My Devices panel, click PROTECT THIS DEVICE.
- Right-click the downloaded file and choose Run as administrator.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to finish. The device links to your Bitdefender Central account.
For Mac
Follow the same Steps 1–3 as Windows, with one difference: run the downloaded .pkg installer (no “Run as administrator” needed).
For Android / iOS
- Install Bitdefender Mobile Security from Google Play or the App Store.
- Sign in / link the app to your Bitdefender account.
- Tap I HAVE A CODE and enter your activation code.
Notes
- Your activation code format is
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. - One subscription can protect multiple devices — repeat the install step on each device from your Bitdefender Central account.
- If you see a region or country error while activating, connecting a free VPN to a supported region (for example India) during activation usually resolves it — once activated, the VPN is no longer needed. You can also contact our support for help.
